About Us

Prabhat means “Dawn”- The Sunshine of a New Day. Dawn is what wakes up people and brings hope for a better world. Prabhat NGO emphasizes the existence of every innocent life whose dawn has not yet come. We, as an NGO, aim to work for the welfare and Rehabilitation of the Intellectually Disabled (ID) & Persons with Mental Illness (PMI).

a) We aim to bring a new beginning for them that they have yet to discover.

b) We aim to make them feel the warmth of the sunny world they have yet to experience.

c) We aim to establish a Day Care & Residential Center for them to build a world where there is always “Dawn”.

To create the new ray of hope, we have been working tirelessly for the last 7 years to improve their social and psychological functioning and to make them self reliant.

MISSION

To provide actual access to cost effective and high quality care to bring about a positive change in their self-identity, self-reliance (Job oriented etc.) and boosting their confidence.

CORE BELIEFS AND VALUES

Prabhat aims to recreate adequate values in the lives of such ID’s & PMI’s who have almost lost all their enthusiasm and interest in all aspects of their lives through social, clinical, psychological and holistic mental health care services.

VISION

  • To develop a society which is free from stigma, shame and embarrassment concerning mental health
  • To safeguard their future in respect of their life, income, respectful status free from fear and humiliation.
  • The society generally makes fun of such innocent souls and is very cruel towards them. We wish to create a safe space where ID and PMI feel absolutely free and independent enough ‘To Not Only Survive, but Thrive’.

OUR IMPACT

Since our birth in 2013, Prabhat has been able to focus on the community level system and stigma through regular awareness programs connected with mental health involving Parents, Teachers, Students, Community Leaders, and Local Government representatives, etc.

Through training and therapies, we have been able to provide employment to some ID’s and PMI’s and collaborating with established NGOs and subjecting them to the selection process through job fairs conducted by Corporates.
